Hi! Welcome to my website! The website is brand new, but I have been teaching for over 25 years. I have a few openings for violin and viola students, so if you would like more information about lessons, please get in touch with me through the contact button above. I specialize in Suzuki Method, but I love working with students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. I am equally adept at starting a preschool aged pre-twinkler, working with Suzuki transfer students, helping students who started in the public schools and who now want private lessons, and teaching adults who are returning to their instrument or just getting started on their musical journey. Borrowing from Kay Collier Slone's book title, students are rarely too young and never too old to twinkle. Because of my performance degree and a lifetime of performing and studying, I am equipped to take students through all the Suzuki books and beyond.
The student portal section of my website is private. Current students and their parents will be invited via email. In the portal, students will find many tools to assist them in their practice and motivation. I am just beginning to create the content, but you will find videos of me to assist in practicing, embedded Quizlet activities created by me, .pdf files of music and other things to download, a featured star student section, practice incentives, and other relevant resources.
I offer weekly private lessons of 30, 45, or 60 minutes in length, depending on the needs of the student. A monthly group class supplements the private lessons. I organize two solo/ensemble recitals per year, at which I also perform. Students begin preparing months in advance, and recitals are treated as celebrations so they are fun and exciting experiences. I am currently exploring having students perform at skilled nursing facilities for the holidays and other occasions as well.
Thank you for reading my blog and exploring my website. I am absolutely passionate about teaching, and I love figuring out how to best reach each student in order to make each and every lesson as productive and rewarding as possible.
